Commemorating
a piece of history in early America, Johnson C. Smith University and
Livingstone College have partnered to honor the first black college
football game in America in 1892. In order to acknowledge, promote,
and celebrate the history and contributions of these two institutions,
they have created the “Commemorative Classic” Football game. This event
will be held at Memorial Stadium on October 3, 2009 with a 1:00pm kickoff.
